About Mungari Operations
Located in the Western Australia Goldfields, Mungari offers a unique work environment. You can choose to work on an attractive fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) roster or live local and enjoy our close-knit community and lifestyle. With a mine life through to 2038, we have a long future ahead of us.
About the Role
We are seeking a Metallurgist to join our team due to an internal promotion. The role can be FIFO (from Perth only) on an 8:6 roster (12 hours) or offered residentially working a 5:2:4:3 roster (10 hours). Relocation support will be offered to those willing to relocate permanently to Kalgoorlie.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure key plant operating parameters remain within target and that consumption of process consumables stays within budget.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical accounting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Conduct metallurgical test work and trials aimed at improving efficiencies and/or costs.
- Maintain competence in all laboratory procedures to cover lab duties if required.
- Actively promote continuous improvement to improve safety, improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Minerals Processing and have proven experience in the following areas:
- 2+ years' experience in gold extraction (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated continuous improvement and strong project management skills
- Ability to prioritise and schedule work, whilst coping with pressures and setbacks
- Ability to work autonomously and safely in a remote environment.
- Skills in analysing and interpreting data, applying expertise and technology, following instructions and procedures, and adapting to change.
- Competent user of MS Word, Excel and Pronto.
