About Mungari Operations
Mungari is a gold mine located in the Western Australia Goldfields. We offer a range of work options, including fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) rosters or living locally in a close-knit community. Our mine life extends through to 2038, providing a long-term future for our employees.
About the Role
We are seeking a Metallurgist to join our team, providing technical support to assist the production team in achieving budgeted gold output. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Metallurgist and be responsible for:
- Ensuring key plant operating parameters remain within target and that consumption of process consumables stays within budget.
- Completing daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical accounting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Conducting metallurgical test work and trials aimed at improving efficiencies and/or costs.
- Maintaining competence in all laboratory procedures to cover lab duties if required.
- Actively promoting continuous improvement to improve safety, operational efficiencies, and reduce costs.
About the Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Minerals Processing and have proven experience in the following areas:
- 2+ years' experience in gold extraction.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement and strong project management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule work, while coping with pressures and setbacks.
- Ability to work autonomously and safely in a remote environment.
- Skills in analyzing and interpreting data, applying expertise and technology, following instructions and procedures, and adapting to change.
- Competent user of MS Word, Excel, and Pronto.
