Business Project Manager

Challenger Customer Division is undertaking a significant program of work to uplift the customer experience using digital technology. The program works with the broader, Product, Distribution, Marketing and Technology teams along with representatives across almost all business units within Challenger to deliver change for our people and our customers.Alongside this there are a number of regulatory and strategic growth initiatives to deliver.
The Team:
The Customer Program Office is comprised of Project Managers, Change Managers and Business Analysts. We manage the planning, funding, resourcing and execution of strategic projects across Challenger’s Customer division.We enjoy working together as a collaborative, inclusive and supportive group that demonstrate Challenger’s values in everything we do.Key Responsibilities:
Undertaking all aspects of project management to deliver projects in accordance with agreed scope, time and cost parameters, including:
Planning: develop and document project objectives, scope and a detailed planTracking and reporting: measure and report project progress and performance against the plan and escalate any risks and issues as requiredResource allocation and delivery management: coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to deliver key activities in accordance with the planStakeholder management: engage and manage key stakeholders throughout, from plan to development and project completionRisk management: identify risks and develop and maintain appropriate risk mitigationGovernance: create and maintain documentation and forums as required to manage delivery, sign-offs and any changes to scope, schedule or costChange Management: Communicate and manage any change in relation to the projects, including take-to-market activities.Role Requirements:
Demonstrated experience working on small and large scale business projects and preferably across a number of concurrent projects.Proven track record of delivering business projects from inception to completion.5+ years project management experience, preferably in financial services.Excellent facilitation and communication skillsExperienced in managing cross-functional teams and influencing others to deliver.Proficient in program management and planning tools e.g. MS Project, Confluence, JIRAKnowledge & Skills required
Project Management disciplines / methodologyProven experience working effectively with diverse stakeholdersMicrosoft Office – particularly Power point and ExcelWriting and reportingGood organisation and prioritisation skillsExperience in identifying, assessing, evaluating and managing risksProblem solving skillsDemonstrated ability to make effective decisions under pressureCoping with pressure and setbacksAs applicable to the role, a working knowledge of the corporate regulatory environment, governance principles, corporate accountability and conduct frameworks and the process for managing risk.Experience & Certifications:
5+ Project Management experience2-5 years financial industry experienceBusiness degree (Nice to have not mandatory)
Formal training in project methodologies (e.g. PRINCE certification, AGILE, Six Sigma) (Nice to have not mandatory)
