About the program:AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
About the role:As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will drive scenario development, requirements analysis, design overarching System and Sub-system level capabilities.Additional responsibilities will include:Resolve System and sub-system level requirements through decomposition and design, representing these in the Model Based Engineering (MBE) environmentDevelop key interface definitions, representing these in the MBE EnvironmentResolve design and solution Trade-Offs against System RequirementsDevelop key AIR6500 technical documents and artefacts such as solution descriptions, trade studies and definition of requirements
About you:To be successful in this role, you will have:Degree qualifications in a relevant Engineering Discipline or relevant industry experienceSignificant knowledge and experience in the application of System Engineering, Integration and Verification on large complex systemsWell-developed knowledge in one or more of Command & Control, Command Support or Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance domains in a Defence contextExtensive experience with development of systems design for large complex systemsStrong understanding in the application of Model Based Engineering (MBE) principlesWell-developed knowledge and experience working within an Agile (Scrum) development projectAn Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data and information
