About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker at FLDS , you'll work alongside participants to enhance their independence, dignity, and connection to the community. This is a casual role, with flexible hours across a variety of support types and settings.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supported Living (SIL & ILO): Providing day-to-day assistance, personal care, medication prompts, and building independent living skills.
  • Community Access: Supporting social engagement, recreational outings, or appointments in the community.
  • In-Home Support: Assisting with domestic duties like meal prep, cleaning, and personal care in the participant's home.
  • Travel Supports: Transporting participants safely to activities, appointments, or events using your own reliable vehicle.

About You

You're compassionate, reliable, and ethically driven. You take pride in your work, value doing things properly, and genuinely enjoy building strong connections with the people you support.

You're someone who:

  • Understands the importance of choice and control in a participant's life, as well as your duty to duty of care.
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully.
  • Enjoys being part of a team that values laughter, learning, and communication.
  • Wants to grow in a meaningful role, not just clock in and out.

Essential Criteria (or willingness to obtain prior to commencing)

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • National Police Check
  • Valid Australian driver's licence
  • Reliable, well-maintained vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • Completion of NDIS Orientation Modules

Highly Regarded (but not essential, apply anyway)

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services or similar
  • Experience in SIL, ILO, or high needs in-home care
  • Confidence supporting people with autism, intellectual disability, or psychosocial disability
  • Manual handling experience such as hoist use
  • Experience with or knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support and restrictive practices
  • Knowledge of communication aids such as Key Word Sign
  • Flexibility to work across varied shifts, including overnights, weekends, and short notice shifts

Pay: From $41.76 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
