About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at Aged Care Resumes.

As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live independently and actively participate in their local community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Accompanying and supporting clients to access community services, participate in recreational activities, and pursue their personal goals.
  • Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met in a safe, respectful, and empowering manner.
  • Collaborating with the client's support network, including family members and other care providers, to develop and implement personalised support plans.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation to ensure the continuous improvement of client care.

What We're Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for working with people with disabilities and a commitment to promoting their independence, choice, and inclusion.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within the aged care or disability support sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • A strong understanding of person-centred approaches to care and the ability to tailor support to individual needs.
  • A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (desirable).
