About UsDelhi Nights in Cobblebank is a popular and busy restaurant that serves authentic modern Indian cuisine.
Their extensive menu offering includes a wide variety of meals including curries, tandooris and seafood among others.They are currently looking for 2 Chefs to join their Cobblebank team.The RoleYou will not only be able to hone your cooking skills and techniques, you will also have the freedom to express yourself in the dishes you create.
This is for a full time role (ongoing) with an annual salary at $78,000, depending on experience plus superannuation.The ResponsibilitiesYour tasks at the restaurant will consist of:Plan, direct, and supervise the food preparation and cooking activitiesDetermine how food should be presented, and create decorative food displaysDetermine production schedules & staff requirements necessary to ensure delivery of servicesEstimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredientsInspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standardsInstruct cooks and other workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing & presentation of foodMonitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulationsOrder or requisition food and other supplies needed to ensure efficient operationAnalyse recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food, labour, and overhead costsArrange for equipment purchases and repairsMeet with sales representatives in order to negotiate prices and order suppliesPrepared and cook food of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functionsSupervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparationCollaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus, taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of customersCheck the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are metCheck the quantity and quality of received productsDemonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staffRecord production and operational data on specified formsThe RequirementsTo be considered for the position you must meet the following requirements:Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery completed as per Australian standards.Minimum 3 years of experience as a ChefMinimum 3 years' experience and knowledge in tandoori cooking is essentialAt least 3 years' experience in tandoori cooking is essentialAt least 3 years' experience in preparing curry pastes and tandoori rubs from scratchAt least 3 years' commercial experience using kitchen equipment such as tandoor, ovens, grills, and fryersExperience and knowledge in modern Indian cuisine is essentialMust be able to work with proteins like lamb and seafoodMust know how to operate and cook with a Tandoori ovenMust know how to prepare meals to dietary requirementsExperience in kitchen operations and in managing a teamAustralian citizens and permanent residents are preferredAbility to balance high volume periods and peak service times
