Opportunity for an AO4 Claims Officer within the State Government

**Your new company**

Is the economic, fiscal and commercial advisor to the Government and leads the Queensland Government's efforts to ensure the economy of Queensland delivers outcomes for the community. This involves leading the management of the state's financial resources, monitoring agency performance and the performance of the Queensland economy.

**Your new role**

Will include the following duties and responsibilities:

- Monitor and update the Claims Management System, ensuring continual data integrity.
- Represent the organisation in settlement conferences
- Provide instructions to solicitors, investigators and other stakeholders
- Draft correspondence including internal submissions
- Negotiate appropriate direct settlement of claims with the insured, claimant or solicitor acting for the claimant
- Approve settlements, legal and other expenses in accordance with delegations
- Prepare reports, summaries and submission with respect to claims

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience in insurance will be highly regarded
- Strong written communication skills
- Competent using MS Excel
