Lead Mining Engineer - Career Growth Opportunity
The Lead Mining Engineer role involves overseeing day-to-day mine activities, mentoring junior engineers, and driving business growth through effective planning and coordination.
The position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of mining engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and drive mine production activities to meet business objectives in terms of production and cost.
Develop and implement engineering plans and schedules effectively to the underground workforce.
Mentor junior national engineers in drill & blast, ventilation, dewatering, backfilling, and production processes.
Review established processes and standards to maximize economic profit for the operation.
Coordinate the scheduling of UG mobile equipment fleet, including Jumbos, loaders, trucks, longhole drill, diamond drill, and raisebore.
Ensure QAQC of explosives charging practices and establish schedules for drill and blast operations in the underground mining.
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering with a focus on production.
6+ years of experience in underground hard rock mining.
Prior experience working in similar environments.
Proficiency in Deswik 3D modeling software.
Ability to analyze numerical and geographical data.
Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
Strong active listening and interpersonal skills.
