**About the Position**

Anglicare's Homelessness Services endeavours to empower women to make their own decisions and provide them with the resources they need to take control of their lives and participate in their community. Our team provides accommodation and holistic support via a range of services to help women rebuild their self-worth to make sustainable changes in their lives.

We are currently seeking a
**Female Recovery Support Worker **to join our
**Toowong** team on a
**Part time basis, working on a rotating roster with sleep over and weekend shifts. **Evening Shift times start at 5pm to 9am as a sleep over component or a day shift of 8.30 am and 4.30 pm predominantly on weekends.

This important role provides support and practical assistance to women in accommodation. We work alongside women who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness who would benefit from support towards transitioning towards independent living. We empower women by assisting with implementing strategies that enhance personal wellbeing, teaching practical living skills, encouraging resilience, and assessing the safety of onsite accommodation.

You will provide one on one support working shifts (which will include some weekends and/or overnight shifts with a sleepover component), to support a safe and secure environment for women in our residential facility.

Hours of work below are the minimum hours offered, there are always backfill shifts to be filled:
Rotation 1 - 2 sleepovers weeknight

Rotation 2 - 1 sleepover weeknight, 2 day weekend shifts

Rotation 3 - 2 sleepovers weekend

Rotation 4 - 2 Sleepovers weeknights

Rate of pay SCHDI award Level 1 CAE pay point 1- $34.0368 to pay point 4 $36.5054 dependent of experience and qualifications

Due to the nature of this role only female applicants will be considered. This is arguable under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).

**About You**

We are looking for someone experienced in the provision of high quality responsive, strength-based practical support within a trauma-informed framework our successful applicant will offer:

- Sound knowledge of issues facing single adult women, or young women who are pregnant or parenting, and are experiencing homelessness
- A strong, robust understanding of Trauma Informed Practice, Recovery Orientated Practice and Housing First Principles
- Practical experience in client support and a sound knowledge of social and community housing within the community sector
- Ability to provide practical and emotional support to residents, with a focus on individual needs and situations
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of people
- Proven capability in maintaining objective, accurate and relevant records based on confidentiality, respect, and client-centred care
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, which maintain a level of professionalism
- Confidence in self-management and the prioritisation of your own workload, along with a collaborative nature and interest in being part of a team

Qualifications will include:

- A Diploma in Community Services or similar field and/or equivalent practical experience
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
- Blue Card (Working with Children)
- Current COVID-19 Vaccination certificate
- Availability to work a range of shifts including sleepovers and weekends
