A permanent opportunity has become available in the Procurement team here at AGL. The P2P Governance Lead is responsible for managing procurement related policies and processes, driving and implementing continuous improvement activities, and leading assurance and compliance activities to ensure AGL's procurement activities achieve strategic objectives.

What you'll be doing:
Reporting to the Manager P2P Governance and Reporting, you will:

- Build and manage stakeholder relationships across the business to influence changes towards procurement compliance
- Contribute to cross functional procurement governance forums to provide guidance on procurement governance and compliance
- Manage updates to procurement related policies, processes and associated documentation, including driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure procurement principles are applied across all activities in the procurement life cycle including sourcing, negotiations, contracting, procure to pay, and supplier management
- Build capability and deliver training to drive consistent use of procurement tools and processes which protects the business from risk
- Provide business wide advice on procurement policy, exceptions and procurement pathways
- Manage compliance and assurance activities on procurement activities including monitoring, management, escalations, and taking firm and decisive action for non-conformance
- Support internal and external audits and lead delivery of audit actions
- Support procurement system governance to ensure system functionality supports governance requirements, and user access to key systems is managed with appropriate governance
- Ensure AGL's procurement related statutory compliance reporting including but not limited to Payment Times Reporting are delivered when required

About You

What you'll bring to the table:

- Demonstrated experience in a procurement or governance role in a complex/matrix environment
- Experience in managing and/or supporting policy governance, with a good understanding of a mature procurement environment
- Demonstrated experience in technical document writing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to interpret business needs and clearly articulate the problem statement and required solution
- Display and demonstrate an inherent ability to use effective communication and influencing skills in a consultative and constructive manner
- Systems experience in SAP and SAP SaaS products is highly preferred
- Tertiary qualifications associated with Procurement / Purchasing, Business, Commerce or Finance is preferred
