
Principal Procurement Governance Adviser

The Principal Procurement Governance Adviser is responsible for supporting the deployment of key procurement policies in an operational environment as well as building the capability of procurement staff during its transition to a new procurement platform. Working closely with the Procurement Management leadership team and the Strategy and Policy team, the position provides high level procurement policy, governance and compliance advice across the group.
Accountabilities
- Initiates and manages negotiations with peers to gain commitment to projects, and delivery of activities to meet specified timelines.
- Lead the scoping, planning and development and manage projects relating to financial and/or business management activities.
- Comply with the Financial Management Act 1994 and other relevant legislation, regulations and government directives, policies and guidelines.
- Pro-actively build and maintain positive relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead strategic projects to define incident management and financial business rules and systems in collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders and oversee compliance policies to ensure adherence.
- Oversee the establishment of risk management strategies.
- Provide strategic thinking and building capability of staff.
- Provides highly specialist services or expert advice on policy service delivery.
- Responsible for implementation of endorsed strategic procurement policy
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
