Assistant Finance Analyst (1 year contract)Department: Core - FinanceEmployment Type: Fixed Term - Full TimeLocation: Sydney, AustraliaReporting To: Financial Controller, APACDescriptionThe Assistant Finance Analyst is responsible for a wide range of tasks in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Reporting to the Finance Analyst based in Sydney with a strong dotted line to the Finance Controller based in Singapore, you will proactively manage the day-to day financial processes and identify improvement opportunities.
You will work closely with the Oxford, Singapore and Sydney Finance team, as well as the wider Global Operations team.You will support the maintenance of financial accounts as well as financial databases and systems and recommend changes as appropriate.
You will work closely with the Finance Analyst on month end procedures as well as financial statements.
You will be responsible for our invoicing processes and managing accounts payables.We are looking for someone who can work independently, has excellent attention to detail and can hit the ground running.
You must have excellent organisational skills and be a confident communicator.This is a chance to gain experience within an organisation where individuals thrive on change and work within an exciting and dynamic environment.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsuring transactions are recorded in line with local accounting laws and regulationsAssisting the Finance Analyst to maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgersPerforming bank accounts reconciliationsAssisting the Finance Analyst in ensuring smooth execution of month-end and year-end procedures, while meeting all group reporting deadlines.Assisting with monthly balance sheet reconciliationWorking closely with the commercial team to maintain the subscriptions database to ensure that revenue is recognised appropriately, and customers are invoiced on a timely basisUpdating daily cash flow schedulesDeveloping and implementing your ideas to optimise financial processesCollaborating with the finance team on various ad hoc projectsWhat we are looking forRequired attributes:Accounting knowledge and/or experienceThe ability to analyse data clearly with a good knowledge of Microsoft ExcelAffinity for numbersAccuracy and ability to learn quickly High level of responsibility and reliabilityTeam-oriented and interest in working in an international environmentDesirable attributes:Experience with accounting systems, maintaining financial trackers, bank reconciliations, preparing accruals and prepayments, and reconciling general ledger balancesExperience of working with offshore teams and external service providersExperience of working with an ERP SystemWhat we offerHCF Private insurance25 days annual leaveNovated Car LeasingPaid Parental leaveSpecsavers corporate eyecare packageAccess to the Aurora Academy, our training programme offering a range of opportunities to develop your skills within the responsibilities of your role and within the wider context of the industryAccess to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), offering a complete support network that offers expert advice and compassionate guidance 24/7/365, covering a wide range of personal and professional aspectsThe Company is committed to the principle that no employee or job applicant shall receive unfavourable treatment on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership and pregnancy and maternity/paternity.
