Our commitment to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement underpins our position as a market leader in coffee solutions across Australia and New Zealand.We are seeking an accomplished and commercially grounded Financial Controller to lead the finance control function across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.
This role reports to the Finance & IT Director and is responsible for financial operations, statutory reporting, payroll, internal controls, and the delivery of critical reporting to senior leadership and shareholders.
This is a key leadership appointment, requiring the ability to maintain control across multiple financial disciplines while ensuring clarity, discipline, and credibility in stakeholder and shareholder engagement.Key areas of focus:Shareholder & Executive Reporting : Lead the preparation and delivery of concise, outcome-oriented financial reports to UCC Japan and executive stakeholders.
Ensure alignment with group standards while communicating key insights with clarity and precision.Team Leadership : Lead, coach, and develop a skilled finance team.
Drive accountability, performance, and a culture of continuous improvement.Internal Controls & Governance : Uphold and continuously refine a robust internal control environment, ensuring full compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory obligations across jurisdictions, and alignment with both corporate policies and statutory frameworks.Payroll Oversight : Oversee payroll operations across ANZ, including the successful implementation and integration of a new payroll platform from September, with full compliance and process integrity.
Expansion to Singapore will follow as part of the broader rollout.Financial Operations : Manage month-end, year-end, and statutory close processes across all business entities.
Drive timeliness, accuracy, and financial transparency.Systems & Reporting Tools : Drive improvements and projects relating to finance systems and reporting platforms to improve data visibility, strengthen financial control, and support informed, timely decision-making at all levels of the business.Your style:Clear and confident communicator - Able to translate complexity into succinct, actionable insight for senior stakeholders and global shareholdersHighly structured and disciplined - Brings order to ambiguity, prioritises effectively, and delivers consistently across competing workstreamsStrong sense of ownership - Operates with autonomy and accountability, taking full responsibility for outcomes and timelinesStakeholder maturity - Builds trust and influence with credibility and professionalism across internal and external stakeholdersComposed under pressure - Brings calm, assurance, and sound judgement in high-visibility, time-sensitive situationsYour background & experience:CA or CPA qualified, with substantial experience in senior financial control or corporate finance leadership rolesDemonstrated success operating within complex, multi-entity environments - ideally within FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution sectorsDeep technical capability across financial operations, statutory compliance, internal controls, and external reportingProficient in enterprise financial systems (JDE/E1 or equivalent ERP), with strong working knowledge of payroll and reporting platformsHigh standards of professional accountability, with a continuous improvement mindset and strong attention to detailProven leadership experience - capable of building capability, driving team engagement, and embedding a high-performance cultureOur Recruitment Process:We will be managing this recruitment ourselves so please no agencies .
