**About the Unit (Treasury Integrity Portfolio Governance and Appointments Unit)**

The Treasury Integrity, Portfolio Governance and Appointments (TIPGA) Unit plays a key role in undertaking enterprise-wide integrity and assurance activities, as well as central administration of appointments to Treasury portfolio entities and enhancement of portfolio governance arrangements.

Treasury currently manages appointments to 52 statutory and non-statutory bodies within the portfolio. The Appointments team within the TIPGA Unit support the Department and Treasury portfolio entities in managing the appointment process and building robust assurance processes and maintaining key stakeholder relationships:

- Providing central oversight and governance of the processes supporting the appointing of significant statutory office holders, including heads of the Treasury Portfolio Agencies.
- Monitoring expiring appointments and engaging with Treasury policy areas to undertake appointments in accordance with relevant legislative and policy requirements.
- Managing the Treasury Appointments Register and promoting the Government's target of women holding 50 per cent of Government board positions overall.
- Providing regular reporting to stakeholders including Treasury Ministers; the Senate; and the Office for Women in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
- Managing the Treasury Appointments Community of Practice (CoP) along with other communities of practice.

**About the role**

The APS 6 Portfolio Appointments Officer will work with senior staff across Treasury and liaise across the Treasury portfolio to:

- Provide advice on the ministerial and cabinet processes for significant appointments, in line with the relevant legislation and government policy.
- Work with the Treasury community of practice to support and provide advice on the significant appointment processes.
- Undertake initial drafting of Ministerial and Cabinet Submissions.
- Maintain the database of all significant appointments and providing regular reports to the senior executive and ministerial offices on upcoming appointments.

**Desirable Qualifications / Experience**

Experience in or knowledge of government appointments, ministerial and/or cabinet processes would be desirable.
