Your new company

Hays are currently working with a large Federal Government Department based centrally in Canberra seeking an experienced APS6 Senior Property Officer to join their team either permanently through S26 transfer or a non-ongoing contract.

Your new role

  • Oversee a team delivering in-house property services
  • Responsible for the strategic approach to the ongoing management of accommodation use and facilities services for the department
  • Manage subcontractors and outsourced service provider contracts
  • Manage procurement activities in line with Commonwealth Procurement Rules
  • Provide technical knowledge in property and facilities management
  • Provide input to strategic direction for operational delivery of facilities services

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience in facilities/property management within the government environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a governance framework, guidelines and procedures
  • Knowledge of the commonwealth procurement rules
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
