**Role Description/Criteria**

We are seeking a highly-skilled leader who is committed to sustaining high-quality teaching, learning and assessment practices in numeracy at St George Preca School. A post-graduate qualification is highly desirable (or the willingness to undertake further study).

Year Level/Subject: P-6 ongoing position with this POL 3 (3-year contract).

Applicants must be able to:

- demonstrate a strong commitment to the ideals and ethos of Catholic Education
- contribute as a member of the Leadership and Learning Diversity Teams
- work effectively with the other full-time numeracy leader and intervention/extension staff
- develop teacher skills in effective teaching to the diverse range of learning needs enriching the learning for all students
- lead in the use of data to inform teaching
- have the ability to inspire and encourage teachers and students with a love of learning
- demonstrate a commitment to and understanding of contemporary learning, teaching and assessment
- drive the learning and teaching of mathematics using research-based pedagogies, such as the Launch, Explore, Summarise model
- maintain a professional knowledge of contemporary practices in mathematics
- facilitate year-level planning
- facilitate professional learning for staff
- provide support to classroom teachers at the planning, assessment and implementation levels
- coach and mentor classroom teachers in the area of mathematics
- model strategies for teachers
- assist teachers in monitoring their students in order to reflect and refine teaching strategies and practices
- liaise with other Learning and Teaching Leaders to ensure consistency in planning/learning and teaching/classroom practices
- experience with using the Maths Online Interview is an advantage
- any other duties as required by the Principal
- demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills with colleagues, parents and students
- be committed to personal and professional growth
- have registration (or eligibility) with V.I.T
- have accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School
- commitment to Restorative Practices
