Job Title:
Project Finance Origination Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled professional to drive project finance origination activities and build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing and closing project finance transactions with new and existing clients.
Key Responsibilities
Originate Project Finance Deals:
Identify and pursue project finance opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Build Relationships:
Foster strong relationships with MUFG departments across Oceania and APAC to drive business growth and ensure efficient transaction execution.
Lend and Ancillary Business:
Provide lend and ancillary business services such as hedging, loan syndication, FX bonding, and advisory services to clients.
Drive Strategy:
Contribute to driving MUFG's Originate to Distribute strategy with DCM, ensuring effective deal sourcing and transaction execution.
Credit Matters:
Manage credit matters, including credit papers, modeling, and due diligence, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Negotiate Terms:
Negotiate and document terms and conditions of credit and security documents, ensuring alignment with client needs and MUFG's risk appetite.
Transaction Handover:
Ensure efficient handover of closed transactions to Project Finance Portfolio Management, minimizing risks and ensuring smooth transition.
Requirements
Experience:
8+ years' experience in banking and finance, including project finance knowledge.
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualifications in Business or Finance or related field.
Business Acumen:
Strong business and financial acumen, with ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
Skills:
Experience in project management, credit analysis, and documentation, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Leadership:
Previous leadership experience providing guidance and mentorship to a developing team.
Technical Skills:
MS office experience with key capabilities in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
