**About this opportunity**
The Production Scheduler is accountable for working cross-functionally with our manufacturing, distribution, supply planning and customer service teams to coordinate the timely release of production schedules, each with their unique complexities and constraints, and to ensure our products are produced on time, every time.
**Your key responsibilities will be to**:
- conduct analysis to identify performance to target gaps and identify solutions to mitigate risks.
- Create consistently predictable schedules for the plant, built within the scope of the agreed planning guidelines, based on the requirements of the Supply Planner, and optimising plant efficiencies.
- Work to close tolerances and within time constraints in an efficient and organised manner within a fast paced and often high-pressure environment.
- Perform retiming of the current week's schedule when need arises to align with plant status and escalation of risks.
- Work with the sales team on customer priorities and revised dates for open orders.
- Work closely with the maintenance department to incorporate the preventative maintenance plan to the production schedule.
- Work closely with the Supply Planner to ensure production planning information is up to date and MPS reflects current data.
- Working with the plant manager for the best alternative production facilities for improving efficiency
- Key participant in making decisions/giving recommendations for Daily Production meetings, steering plant schedules to alignment.
- Work closely with the Materials Planner to ensure materials are order and deliver om time
- Manage to finish material inventory levels, order finishing material stock (pallets, etc.), and liaise with suppliers & sites regarding timely supply and inventory levels
- Coordinate and manage routine stock take in line with the Pact Policy and ensuring all updates are captured in SAP.
- Provide input, analysis, reporting and recommendations on the shape of Inventory to support planned sales.
- Work with supply partners to identify, reposition, or return inventory.
- Drive reconciliation process improvement and problem-solving activities.
- Monitor material consumption to ensure the BOM is up to date.
- Prepare content for and lead the Weekly Plant Scheduling and S&OE meetings.
- Manage the daily and weekly reporting for schedule adherence and stock outs.
- Provide insights for inventory holdings based on supply chain risks, sound understanding of site requirements, contractual obligations, and available warehouse space
**Your skills and experience**
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Solid experience in a similar role, ideally within the FMCG, manufacturing or distribution industries
- Experience in ERP systems (preferable SAP) and strong computer and excel skills (advanced technical understanding of planning and ordering to a manufacturing production schedule)
- High level of organisational skills and attention to detail when required.
- Ability to understand, anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills at the appropriate level or all stakeholders - active listening, written, verbal and formal presentations as required.
- Ability to prioritise, multitask and work cross functionally.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations.
- Be able to lead by example with a good work ethic
- Agile, responsive, and good under pressure
