About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Planning Lead - Digital to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program based at Osborne, reporting to the Production Planning Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for leading a team to deliver the digital planning capability to Hunter Class Projects. This includes integration with the engineering design to assign materials to work packages in advance of drawing development.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Lead the team in the development of Manufacturing Bill of materials (MBoM) in Windchill and assigning the MBoM to level 2 work packages in Windchill ensuring the quality of outputs is consistent.
- Supervise, coach and educate planners maintaining a focus on the customer needs coupled with a desire to remove non value added activities
- Review and development of production work order and job card schedule in Aveva Enterprise Resource Management.
- Integration with engineering and supply chain on issues such as design information, part attributes and lead times
- Development of engineering drawing schedule based on production scheduled times
- Oversee and assist in the visualisation review of allocated design zone build sequence
- Assist in the Development of measurement reports of the digital planning capability
- Assist in the Performance Development Reviews of employees
- Actively Identify process improvement
- Perform other relevant and appropriate duties as required.
About YOU
- Significant experience in a Production, Scheduling/ Production Planning type role, preferably in the heavy engineering industries or equivalent tertiary qualifications or production trade experience
- Demonstrated experience in the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models
- Demonstrated understanding of Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations requirements and processes
- Trade qualification or working in an engineering, shipbuilding or manufacturing environment
- Project Management fundamentals (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in the effective use of Planning and scheduling processes, systems and tools
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security clearance and be cleared for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
