This opportunity is to join the Strategic Surveillance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the Project and/or Finance Manager in maintaining the integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision making for the project. The role is based at the Edinburgh Parks office in Adelaide. Flexible work arrangements are embraced, including a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Principal Accountabilities
Provide detailed, accurate and relevant reporting and commentary by the specified deadlines on forecasts, budget and cash flow to the project team, central finance group and corporate staff.
Complete compliance to corporate guidelines, policies and procedures as well as accounting standards and legislation.
Improve processes used to calculate accurate, timely and efficient reporting of the financial results for the project (e.g. streamline month-end process).
Collaborate with the project controls group on job ledger issues.
Prepare journals for project accruals and adjustments.
Manage the accruals process; prepare and review reconciliation process between job and general ledger.
Key Criteria
Degree qualification as well as professional CA, CIMA or CPA qualification.
Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Australian International Framework of Reporting Standards.
Understanding of ongoing billing processes, maintenance and monitoring, including changes resulting from Contract Change Proposals.
Experience with Month-end reporting activities.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and the broader finance team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with a wide range of project stakeholders.
High literacy and numeracy skills.
Exposure to Oracle ERP desirable.
Intermediate MS Office skills, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Eligibility for a Negative Vetting Level 1 Defence security clearance.
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may apply; nationality may be a factor in suitability for this role.
