**Overview**:
The Family Services Practitioner role requires the delivery of case management and early intervention services to children and their families with a view to ensuring the best possible outcomes for the individuals involved.
**Your role**:
- Work with children and families, delivering effective interventions that increase parenting capacity, improve family functioning, achieve child safety and enhance conditions for child development. This will include comprehensive outcomes focus for parents, carers, and children, including individual, social and economic outcomes.
- Deliver flexible services at both office and external locations such as within the client's home.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions and practice approaches to increase engagement of families and to promote safety, stability and development of children and young people. Knowledge of trauma informed practice is highly desirable.
- Assist families to access services that will enhance parenting skills
- Contribute as a member of a care team or professional network to support case planning and ongoing risk assessment.
- Promote the development of community networks for families, promote strong cohesive communities and encourage partnerships with professional services and community groups.
- Establish and maintain an effective and collaborative working relationship with Child Protection staff and other relevant stakeholders.
- Collect and maintain appropriate information and resources for use by staff and clients
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive data and records, documenting practice approaches and interventions, including records required to be maintained under legislation or funding agreements.
- Ensure good practice in service delivery and contribute to evaluation of program interventions.
- Participate in regular supervision and team meetings with the Team Leader, Family Services

- **Work with the executive to ensure that services collectively recover their fully distributed costs and embed commercial capabilities in the organisation
**Required Qualifications**
- **Tertiary Social Work qualification or equivalent / eligibility for membership of AASW**:
- **National Criminal Police Check**:
- **Working with Children's Check**:
- **Proof of Covid-19 vaccinations
**You will be required to**:
- **Work flexible hours to respond to identified family support needs**:
- **Understand and be familiar with Family Services Best Interests Case Practice**:
- **Understand and be familiar with a trauma informed model of client support.**:
- **Understand of the principles and practice of effective risk assessment**:
- **Knowledge of the Victorian Child Protection system**:
- **Proven experience in delivering direct support services to families and children**:
- **Understand and be familiar with Family Services Best Interests Case Practice Model and MARAM Framework**:
- **Experience and competence in providing a range of interventions to vulnerable families, individuals, and children**:
- **Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively foster relationships with colleagues/practitioners, participants, and key stakeholders.**:
- **Work with a diverse range of people**:
- **Have a commitment to Cultural Safety for Aboriginal Children**:
- **Have experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and databases**:
- **Proven ability to work in a team with an understanding of commitment to teamwork**:
- **Understand and commit to a community-based agency and volunteerism**:
- **Demonstrated ability in time management, setting priorities and planning work effectively.**:
- **Demonstrated resilience and ability to pivot with changing goals and tasks**:
- **Maintain a high level of integrity and reliability**:
- **Understand Child Safe Standards and demonstrate a commitment to child safety and wellbeing**:
