About the role:
The position is within Family Services, part of the Family & Community Programs at Mackillop.
Based at the South Melbourne office, it is part of the wider Family Services Team in Southern Melbourne, focusing on Family Preservation & Reunification.
The role involves working as part of the Southern Melbourne Family Services Alliance and reports to the IFS & Early Help Coordinator.
The Integrated Family Services Practitioner will provide casework within the Alliance, offering direct case management to families.
This is a Full-Time Fixed Term 38 hours per week until 30.06.2026, based in Dandenong South, VIC, within our Family and Community Services Program.
The position reports to the Integrated Family Services & Early Help Coordinator.
Key Selection Criteria:
To succeed, you will have:
Bachelor's degree in social work, child development, psychology, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered.
Understanding of contemporary family violence frameworks in interventions with vulnerable children, young people, and parents with complex needs.
Knowledge of child development and challenges faced by vulnerable children, young people, and families.
Skills in assessing risks, needs, and safety for families.
Experience in casework and case management with culturally diverse families.
Ability to engage with vulnerable children, young people, and families.

Hourly Rate of $51 to $53.31, based on qualifications and experience, as per SCHADS Award Level 5.

Valid and current Driver's Licence;
Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid by MacKillop);
Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed/client-facing roles).
