Temporary Part Time 19 hours per week until 27 June 2027 | Grade: Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2

Salary: $66.51 - $67.83 per hour + 12% super & salary packaging

Overview

The MCCN provides care, information, and support for people with cancer across the continuity of care pathways and multidisciplinary teams within the cancer care community. The MCCN will provide collaborative clinical and supportive care for people and their families, with leadership to develop clinical practice that reflects the McGrath Model of Care. The role includes expert clinical advice to patients/clients, carers and health professionals, leadership to promote evidence-based practice, and involvement in education, research, and professional leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate care management plans for patients diagnosed with cancer, focusing on complex needs and care coordination.
  • Provide expert consultation and advice on matters related to cancer care across the continuum of care until discharge, with follow-up as needed.
  • Establish and maintain communication with Medical Practitioners, Nursing and Allied Health Professionals; participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Coordinate scheduling of treatments and triage patient needs, making timely referrals to allied health and support services.
  • Contribute to treatment planning and ensure data required by the McGrath Foundation is entered into the relevant database; participate in Foundation education and information sharing events.
  • Develop education and training programs; participate in collaborative research related to Cancer Care Services.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role.
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Minimum five years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least three years in Oncology, Palliative Care, or Cancer Stream nursing; postgraduate qualifications relevant to the field.
  • Valid NSW Driver's Licence

Note: This is a temporarily funded position until 27 June 2027 with the possibility of extension subject to funding.
