We listen, connect and collaborate domestically and globally with emerging leaders in agriculture, industry bodies, other Research Development Corporations (RDCs) and governmentTo learn more about our organisation see here:DUTIESReporting to the General Manager, Levied and Emerging Industries, the Senior Manager will have responsibility for the strategic leadership and oversight of a portfolio of industriesThis will include:Modelling AgriFutures Australia values and behavioursDeveloping and delivering a portfolio strategy that clearly defines research, communication, and extension prioritiesEngaging and aligning stakeholders around strategic priorities and success measuresImplementing a Stakeholder Engagement Framework to strengthen relationships and ensure alignment with industry needsSupporting the General Manager in ongoing planning and reviews of portfolio performance, evolving priorities, current and future capacity, resource needs and team cultureTaking an entrepreneurial approach to securing co-investment from producers, industry groups, government, and research providersLeading a team of Program Managers and Coordinators to identify RD&E priorities and delivery industry priorities in consultation with a range of industry stakeholders including Advisory Panels, steering committees and governmentManaging external partnerships-including researchers, agencies, and contractors-to ensure high-quality outputsNegotiating and managing contracts to deliver value for levy payers and maximise the adoption of research outcomesCOMPETENCIESProven ability to develop and implement portfolio strategies that deliver impactful outcomesExceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skillsStrong leadership capability with experience in coaching, collaboration, and accountabilityUnderstanding of rural R&D systems and pathways for communication and extensionExcellent financial, planning, and program management skillsKnowledge of Australian agriculture and empathy for rural communitiesCommitment to delivering positive outcomes for stakeholders and AgriFuturesDesirable EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONSTertiary qualifications in science, business management or economics or equivalent relevant experience10+ years of experience within Program Management including the identification of R&D priorities, developing R&D plans and supporting budgets, and commissioning, contracting and managing R&D projectsDemonstrated knowledge of and experience in rural issues and the role of rural research and development with an appreciation of the delivery of R&D outcomes to end usersExperience in leading team(s) to achieve high performanceDemonstrated experience in monitoring, evaluating and reporting on program and project performanceProven track record of outstanding stakeholder liaison skills, management andengagementHOW TO APPLYPlease click APPLYor alternatively you can email your CV to Closing date for applications will be Thursday 14th August 2025
