The opportunity The Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) safeguards Australia's livestock, aquaculture industries, and public health from infectious disease threats.
We seek an Executive Officer to support the ACDP Directorate, managing operations, reporting, strategic communications, and planning.
You will be a vital member of the Management Team, collaborating across scientific, operational, and administrative teams.
Your high-level duties will include: Providing high-level advice to the ACDP Directorate on stakeholder and external interactions.
Formulating and preparing responses to information requests, reports, and strategic communications.
Analyzing complex issues, developing responses, and making decisions under pressure.
Coordinating reporting, planning activities, and leadership meetings.
Leading or managing sensitive projects aligned with CSIRO's strategy and research priorities.
Building and maintaining relationships within ACDP and with external stakeholders.
Role particulars & eligibility Applications are open to Australian Citizens only.
The role requires obtaining or holding an Australian security clearance at Neg Vetting 1 level, along with other security, medical, or character requirements.

Appointment depends on meeting the conditions outlined for working at the ACDP site.
Location: Geelong, Victoria (Wadawurrung Country) Salary: AU$131k – AU$153k per annum (pro rata for part-time), plus 15.4% superannuation Tenure & work schedule: Indefinite, full-time, with options for part-time, job-share, and flexible arrangements.
Reference: Qualifications and experience Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (preferably biological or animal sciences) or equivalent experience.
Excellent written communication skills, capable of preparing complex scientific, strategic, and government reports.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills in ambiguous or urgent situations.
High-level organizational skills to manage competing demands and meet deadlines.
Proactive approach and effective collaboration across teams and external partners.
Experience in project management, including planning, engagement, and reporting.
