Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the implementation of our vision for a centre dedicated to disease preparedness. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our centre is equipped to meet the challenges of disease preparedness in the future.

The centre helps protect Australia's multi-billion-dollar livestock and aquaculture industries, and the general public, from emerging infectious disease threats.

As the Programme Manager, you will lead the implementation of our centre's vision, including the modernisation of the facility, technology, infrastructure, accessibility, and business model.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including senior management, technical teams, and business units, to ensure that our centre is aligned with our overall goals and objectives.

You will develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure that the implementation of our centre's vision is on track and within budget.

You will facilitate effective communication and collaboration between stakeholders, including regular updates on project progress, risks, and challenges.

You will oversee the procurement and implementation of new technologies and infrastructure to support our centre's mission.

You will develop and implement strategies to increase the visibility and impact of our centre, including outreach efforts, partnerships with external organisations, and marketing initiatives.

You will build strong relationships with external partners, including government agencies, research organisations, and industry partners, to ensure that our centre's work is relevant and impactful.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Significant experience in programme management, with a proven track record of delivering complex programmes on time and within budget.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the areas relevant to a complex facility, including infrastructure, technology, and business models.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and manage teams to achieve results.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, the ability to think creatively and strategically, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
