Role Overview

As Assistant Director for Legal Policy, you will shape the health and wellbeing needs of the community through law reform initiatives.

The Legal Policy team plays a pivotal role in driving meaningful change in healthcare delivery across the Territory.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-level legal advice to support policy development and implementation;
  • Managing law reform projects under the guidance of the Director of Legal Policy;
  • Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including government departments and external partners.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • A deep understanding of legal frameworks and policies related to public sector administration and governance;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience in maintaining complex stakeholder relationships;
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in law or a related field (significant study towards gaining qualifications is highly desirable).

Benefits and Opportunities

This is a temporary position available immediately for 12 months, with potential for permanency. An order of merit may be established from this selection process and used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
