**Position Information**:
Boolaroo Public School caters for the educational needs of our local lakeside community students in a caring and inclusive environment. We provide students with access to quality programs within a varied and balanced curriculum. The school fosters a culture of high expectations, community engagement and has strong relationships with our P&C and Mankillikan Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG). Our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Excellence underpin our daily work ensuring our learning community strives for excellence.
At Boolaroo Public School we are committed to providing high quality education for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 within a supportive learning environment. There is a strong focus on literacy and numeracy as we believe these are the building blocks for all learners. Using data from external and internal assessments, student learning needs are identified and catered for. Student learning is also supported by a range of extracurricular programs.
Our current school enrolment is 100, and 21 students identifying as Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander people and we have seven EAL/D students. Visitors to the school comment on the close, cooperative and supportive relationships that exist between students and staff.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
1. Demonstrated successful school leadership experience in creating a school culture that is focused on learning, built on educational aspiration and performance improvement in partnership with the entire school community.
2. Proven ability to lead the collective responsibility for student learning and success, which is shared by parents and students informed by sound holistic information about each student's wellbeing and learning needs in consultation with parents.
3. Demonstrated strong, visible and present leadership that has been proven to engage the entire school community and ensures that teaching and learning takes place in a safe and culturally aware environment with high expectations for all students enabling them to connect, succeed and thrive.
4. Proven ability to develop and implement exemplary classroom teaching practice which delivers high quality learning and improved outcomes for students, whilst meeting the complex demands of leading and managing a school.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
