**Position Information**:
Hurstville Grove Infants School is a small school located in southern metropolitan Sydney with a current enrolment of 55 students. The school is part of a strong collaborative network of schools who work collaboratively together to support achievement of strategic priorities, including high quality teaching and learning, transition of students and professional learning of staff. Hurstville Grove Infants School is recognised for providing an alternative entry point to a child's education within a safe, nurturing and aspirational learning environment.
The school delivers a quality differentiated curriculum, focusing on the foundations of literacy and numeracy for all students from kindergarten to year two, including those identified as high potential and/or gifted students and those with additional learning needs. School-wide programs are underpinned by exemplary wellbeing practices and an emphasis on Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). All students' learning needs are met by the collaborative, dedicated staff, made up of early career and experienced teachers and school learning support officers. Student voice and participation is advocated at all levels across the school.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Approval to teach infants and primary (K-6) with the experience and capability to manage the dual role of a teaching principal.
- Proven success in leading the development of explicit teaching and learning programs and implementing data informed practices using internal and external sources to lead whole school improvement.
- Highly collaborative, dynamic leadership with the ability to inspire, motivate and enhance partnerships, within and across schools and the local community.
- Demonstrated capability to lead high quality, differentiated and evidence-based professional learning to meet the learning and wellbeing needs of all students.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
