Join Our Team as a Direct Support Worker in Beaudesert

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities? We are seeking a dedicated Direct Support Worker to provide compassionate care to clients in Beaudesert.

STAR Community Services LTD is a leading not-for-profit organisation providing transport, aged care, and disability support services to the elderly, frail, and those with disabilities. We are proud to support members of our community enjoy a healthier, independent life. We are currently servicing Redlands, Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast, Stanthorpe, Warwick & Toowoomba areas.

**Requirements**:

- Desirable: Mental Health First Aid
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or Disabilities
- Experience in supporting clients with mental health issues, including drug and alcohol challenges.
- Be eligible to work in Australia
- Green Ps or Open Current "C" class Qld driver's licence
- A roadworthy, registered and insured vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or current Yellow Card)
- National Police check (current within 6 month)
- A First Aid/CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate

**What are we looking for in our DSW?**
- You must have experience with people with a disability and mental health including drug and alcohol challenges.
- A caring nature and a genuine interest in responding to the needs of others
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- The physical capability to carry out a range of manual tasks
- Broad shift availability The more available you are, the more work we can offer

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

- Support clients with disabilities, including those dealing with mental health challenges, substance use issues and maintaining stability
- Provide personal care and assist with daily living activities,
- Attend appointments and engage in community activities.
- Foster a positive and engaging environment to encourage client participation and independence.

Pay: From $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 35 per week
