**4 x Assessment Officers - NSW Government**
- **$50 - $60 per hour + super (Grade 5/6)**:

- **Immediate start - Initial 6 month contract with view to extend**:

- **Full time, Monday to Friday**

This is a fantastic opportunity within a large Government organisation assisting in a high volume environment as the first point of contact for the department.

**Responsibilities include**:

- First point of contact for complaints and enquiries made to the office via phone, in writing or in person
- Conducting assessments on a range of issues of varying complexity
- Manage a caseload of complaints, where some warrant immediate action and response, including making preliminary inquiries of agencies
- Exercise discretion resolving complaints, including evaluating the public interest.
- Prepare correspondence for approval to be sent to agencies and complainants.
- Maintain awareness on trends and systemic issues, including conducting appropriate complementary research, and report to senior staff.
- Participate in outreach programs such as community and correctional centre visits as well as community engagement and training initiatives.
- Contribute to the preparation reports and other publications related to the work of the department

**Skills/experience**:

- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Awareness of maintaining the confidentiality and handling sensitive information
- Highly professional
- Strong relationship building skills with the ability to maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong computer skills - The use of a number of databases and systems is required
- Excellent customer service skills
