Sydney CBD, New South Wales, Australia Creative Australia Full time $86,378 per year

Creative Australia

Creative Australia is the Australian Government's principal arts investment and advisory body. With artists at the heart of what we do, we invest in creative talent and stimulate the market for Australian stories to be told on a national and international scale, sharing our rich culture with the world. We do this because art and creativity define us, recording what we have been and what we might yet become. As a nation, creativity connects us and benefits us all.

Our Purpose

We champion and invest in arts and creativity for a dynamic, creative Australia.

Our culture

We are proud to have been named an Inclusive Employer for the third consecutive time by Diversity Council Australia. This achievement reflects our commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Our people are passionate and dedicated to the delivery of our five-year strategy Creativity Connects Us. We strive to establish and sustain a diverse and inclusive workforce, fostering a culturally safe and supportive environment where everyone can bring their authentic self to work

Your role

Our investment programs play a crucial role in nurturing and empowering talented artists, cultural organisations, and projects across a wide range of disciplines. As our Assessment Officer, you will be at the heart of this process, ensuring that our assessments are transparent, unbiased and of the highest quality.

In your role, you will work closely with our dedicated team, industry advisors and peers to facilitate the assessment of applications. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating the assessment process, providing guidance and support to all involved, and ensuring that our assessments adhere to the highest standards. Your keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and ability to work collaboratively with a range of diverse stakeholders will be key to your success.

What this means for you

  • Full-time, 2-year contract
  • Location: Sydney
  • Hybrid work arrangement (two days' work from home and three days from our office)
  • Salary package of $86,578 per annum + 15.4% superannuation
  • Flexible working hours
  • Paid leave between Christmas and New Year
  • Cultural leave entitlements
  • Wellbeing programs and corporate discounts
  • Holistic employee assistance program for employees, their families, and kin

What does success look like?

  • Supporting and engaging with artists and arts professionals from around the country as you manage the end-to-end recruitment and engagement of peer assessors and industry advisors
  • Organising panels of peer assessors and industry advisors with relevant skills and experience to assess applications to investment programs
  • Ensuring assessment panels reflect diversity in artistic practices, roles, and representation
  • Providing advice on our Application Management System

What we need from you

  • Demonstrated ability to support complex and diverse relationships in the arts
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability in managing logistics and processes to a high standard
  • Proactive team player with the ability to actively contribute to team-based work
  • Proven experience in providing high level administrative support
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the arts
