**Position Information**:
Tomaree Public School is located on the lands of the Worimi people and is part of the Regional North Port Stephens' network of schools. We have a strong, proud partnership with the Youyoong Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and together we work to proivde authentic opportunities for every student at Tomaree PS to learn about and understand the heritage and culture of the Aboriginal Peoples on whose land they live and learn.
We proudly offer a wide range of extra curricular activites to develop interest, skill and talent through performing arts, sporting, cultural, leadership and environmental projects. The school population of 339 includes 37 Aboriginal students, 26 students with a language background other than English and, 20 Defence Force family students. Our classroom compositiom consists of 16 classes, including 3 Multi-categorical classes. Tomaree Public School works in collaboration with a dedicated P&C and the wider school community to support all students to connect, succeed and thrive.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria;
1. Approval to teach infants and / or primary with demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with the executive team and teaching staff to drive continuous improvement through research based, data driven, differentiated, innovative practices.
2. Proven expertise to lead and manage quality wellbeing practices resulting in enhanced student engagement and attendance.
3. Ability to drive evidence-based practices in literacy and numeracy that lead to sustainable whole school improvements.
4. Commitment to strengthening partnerships to meet the diverse needs of students and to enhance a cohesive school culture with emphasis on building and maintaining a strong partership with the AECG and the local Aboriginal community, with proven ablity to turn the Department's policy into action.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
