**Position Information**:
Niagara Park Public School is located on the picturesque Central Coast of New South Wales and is a proud member of the Valley Schools Learning Community. Niagara Park Public School has a longstanding reputation of excellence within the community and beyond. We currently have an enrolment of 515 students. Currently, there are 23 classes which includes three multi-categorical support classes. Student enrolment includes 8% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 10% EAL/D. The school has a highly supportive community and P&C and we work closely to ensure positive educational, social and emotional outcomes are achieved for our students. The school promotes cultural identity and caters to the needs of a growing multicultural demographic. Niagara Park Public School has a strong alliance with the Cooinda Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and works in partnership to provide personalised support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
The dedicated staff consists of a mixture of early career and experienced teachers who work collegially to provide students with a variety of innovative programs to enhance student learning and engagement.
This position will be an on-class position working with Stages 2 and/or 3. The successful applicant will be teaching a class while managing the responsibilities of an Assistant Principal including working as a part of the school executive team driving the strategic improvement plan.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with the capacity to work productively as part of a dynamic leadership team to effectively balance the dual roles of an exemplary teacher with the complex responsibilities of an Assistant Principal.
An open, approachable and visible leader with a demonstrated ability to build capacity, lead, mentor and inspire a team of both experienced and early career teachers and to build and strengthen positive authentic relationships with all members of the school community.
A willingness and/or demonstrated ability to develop and lead current pedagogy, including High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE), while building a culture of data driven practices and continuous high expectations.
Demonstrated ability to foster a school culture that promotes the inclusive learning, behaviour management and wellbeing of a diverse range of learners, including students who identify as Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islanders, and those that come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds or have complex learning needs.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
