**Position Information**:
Metford Public School has an enrolment of 302 students, including 31% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school currently has three multi-categorical classes as well as 12 mainstream classes across K-6. The school is located east of Maitland and is part of the Maitland Learning Community. Our school continues to focus on the quality of student outcomes in literacy and numeracy and is supported by two Assistant Principals Curriculum and Instruction and one Assistant Principal Aboriginal Education. Metford PS offers a broad range of activities to cater for student engagement including culture, leadership and sporting pursuits. The school's welfare focus is driven by Positive Behaviour for Learning.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary
- Proven ability to lead curriculum change and implement whole school improvements through research based, data driven, differentiated and innovative programs
- Commitment to lead all staff in literacy and numeracy professional development of innovative programs, reflecting contemporary pedagogical practice
- High level organisational skills and demonstrated ability to balance classroom teaching and the complex administrative role of an executive.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
