The Opportunity
The Future Fund is hiring a Senior Manager, Architecture to join the Technology Architecture & Infrastructure team. The Technology Architecture & Infrastructure team is responsible for making strategic platform and technical design decisions for the Agency's technical architecture needs, designing and maintaining our cloud and networking infrastructure, and identifying and trialling emerging technology to benefit our business.
Reporting to the Director of Architecture & Infrastructure, the Senior Manager, Architecture is responsible for overseeing decisions on technology tools, platforms and practices for the betterment of the Future Fund, through guiding the process of planning acquiring, building, & deploying technology.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Manager, Architecture will oversee the development and governance of the organisation's technology architecture, managing complex, organisation-wide projects that require expertise across various architecture domains. This role involves analysing, designing, and maintaining both current and future state technology architectures, including data architectures and application roadmaps.
The Senior Manager will also ensure adherence to architectural standards by leading the Design Authority, reviewing and recommending changes, and conducting post-implementation reviews to promote continuous improvement. Additionally, the position requires aligning strategic project solutions with the organisation's technology architecture, advising on budget allocation for critical initiatives, and developing and mentoring architecture resources to foster a culture of excellence.
We are looking for a strategic thinker with extensive experience in technology architecture, governance, and team leadership (the role has 7 direct reports), capable of driving innovation, delivery and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.
About You
We're looking for a strategic thinker with a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. The candidate should have a solid understanding of financial services organisations, preferably with an Investment Fundamentals qualification (e.g., CFA Institute's Investment Foundations Program).
Proven success in architecture, management consulting, and technology leadership roles within the financial services industry is preferable, with experience in the investment industry highly valued. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle, including coding, testing, and production support in a continuous delivery environment.
Key competencies include a strategic and operational focus, fostering continuous improvement, ensuring quality outcomes, and leading beneficial change with a people-centric approach.
