Our Rare Earths deposit in Mt Weld, Western Australia, is acknowledged as one of the highest-grade Rare Earths mine in the world and we operate the world's largest single Rare Earths processing plant in Malaysia - so you're joining a very unique team As a team member you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals which are used in oil & gas, electric vehicles and wind turbines.
Lynas is embarking on an expansion in Western Australia and we're looking for a Metallurgy Vacation Student to join Mt Weld Operations over the December/January/February University break.
This role is offered on a 3-month fixed-term contract basis and are fly in/fly out (FIFO) from Perth on an 8 days on 6 days off roster, 12 hour days.
Throughout your time on site, you will have access to experienced and knowledgeable technical professionals who will coach and mentor you in various aspects of our diverse mining environment. We will assist you with building practical experience and gain confidence in a safe, challenging and rewarding working environment.
As a highly valued member of the Lynas Mt Weld team, you will be:
- Currently studying Metallurgy, ideally in 2nd or 3rd year of studies
- Passionate about starting your career in the mining industry
- Committed to safety principles through personal behaviours and actions
