Metallurgist Vacation Student role offering hands-on experience in mineral processing with Gold Fields' supportive and sustainable mining environment.

Your Role

Here's what you will be doing:

  • Participate in the Gold Fields Vacation Program from December 2025 to February 2026
  • Engage in role-specific training at one of four operational mine sites
  • Work on an 8 days on, 6 days off, 12-hour shift roster if based on site
  • Gain practical, hands-on experience in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy
  • Collaborate with an international team of experienced professionals
  • Contribute to safe and responsible mining practices aligned with environmental and community commitments
About You

What you'll need:

  • Currently enrolled in at least second year or above of a tertiary qualification in Extractive Metallurgy and/or Chemical Engineering
  • Hold a C Class Manual Driver's License
  • Able to obtain National Police Clearance
  • Exposure and/or experience in a mineral processing environment is highly regarded
  • Tech-savvy, quick learner, and a team player
  • Comfortable working in remote locations
