A little bit about the role
This is a great leadership opportunity. You will lead a team and function that has a direct impact on our community, in how they enjoy and utilise our assets across the municipality. Through deliberate strategic planning and stewardship of Council's assets, you will oversee and plan ahead for large and diverse asset base, and continue our integrated asset management approach, strategic drainage and capital works planning.
You will lead a highly skilled technical team who work within four specialist areas; renewal program development; asset policies and strategies; capital works program reporting; and integrated asset systems/drainage network management. You will lead by example working across the organisation and bring these teams together to identify improvement opportunities, work through complex issues or learn through previous experience by conducting retrospectives.
You will work collaboratively with your peers in our Senior Leadership Team and actively contribute to discussions either through our regular leadership forums, bring teams together for a genuine, robust and purposeful cross functional conversation. You will have accountability for effective budget management, delivery of departmental corporate planning requirements, strategic workforce planning and understand your responsibility in providing a safe working environment for your team, where health, safety and wellbeing is a continual discussion.

You have strong communication skills and can negotiate, constructively challenge and present your ideas in a clear and meaningful way, so that sound decisions can be made. You have the ability to digest and comprehend legislative requirements, technical documentation (plans, strategies, policies) and can present to a variety of stakeholders with confidence.
This is the ideal opportunity for an asset management specialist or leader with transferable skills, to work with our teams and community in the sustainable delivery of Council's assets.
