**ABOUT US**

We seek a Mechanical Fitter for a newly created permanent role to join our high-performing Engineering, Marine & Shipping team in Perth, WA. To join a company about to go global where we bring together a multitude of disciplines including engineering, electronics, technology, mechanical, design, systems integration and platform management capabilities for a unique patented marine technology.

**THE ROLE**
- Provide input into work schedules
- Provide input into system engineering review to improve reliability, maintainability and availability of the equipment
- Liaison with internal and external customers to ensure timely action of emergent work including R&D and related innovations
- Review of maintenance and technical documentation to ensure currency and accuracy
- Provide feedback on quality processes
- Fit and assemble parts, sub-assemblies, hydraulic components and other components into final assemblies
- Machining and fabrication, cutting and welding
- Study blueprints, designs and spec and using measuring instruments
- Assemble and fit machined parts
- Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
- Assemble, test, commission, repair, and fault-find hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Check and operate powered machines which may be manually or computer controlled and aligned to OHSE standards, policies and processes

**ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical
- Minimum 3 years in a similar role in assembly, testing, commissioning and repair of mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Current forklift licence
- Current manual drivers' licence
- Knowledge of quality principles and procedures;
- Proven experience with general machining and fabrication ideally metal cutting and welding
- Excellent attitude towards health, safety and quality control
- Strong ability to interpret drawings, including parts and assembly drawings
- Enjoy technical activities
- Physically fit
- Strength to handle materials, tools and machines
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Able to work in a team, under supervision and independently
- Patience
- Accuracy
- Committed to professional development

**DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Experience with electrical and electronic systems is desirable
- Experience or interest in robotics is desirable
- MR Truck Licence is desirable
- A forklift Licence is desirable
