About us
As a department our purpose is to help the community to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from the impact of fire and emergency events.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is the primary provider of fire, rescue and emergency management programs and services throughout Queensland. The department encompasses the Fire and Rescue Service, disaster management services, the Rural Fire Service and the State Emergency Service (SES), and also supports other volunteer groups providing emergency response to Queenslanders.
QFES is one department with many services, many capabilities and many partners.
Purpose of the role
SES Training provides quality assurance to ensure compliance against Vocational Education and Training legislation and the Australian Qualifications Framework for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) when delivering nationally accredited and non-accredited training and assessment to staff and volunteers. The team is responsible for reviewing and developing quality SES training and development products, services and systems that provide a holistic and specialised approach to curriculum design and flexible learning materials that enable trainers and assessors to effectively deliver quality learning and development activities and meet SES operational capability requirements.
Reporting to the Manager, you will be a key member of the team responsible for providing effective and efficient management of RTO compliance through the development and implementation of policies and procedures, including provision of recognition of prior learning services and to ensure that the development or changes to training and assessment material is compliant against current legislative standards.
