Geegeelup is a provider of residential aged care services in Bridgetown, Western Australia.
This carer position is integral to the effective and efficient provision of all aspects of care regarding the residents.We are currently seeking an Aged Carer to join our team at Geegeelup Village.
The position is full time, 38 hours per week.
For the successful candidate a salary of $70,000 to $75,000 per annum + superannuation will be offered.Duties of this Position:All under the direction, supervision and approval of the Clinical Nurse Manager or delegate; Include the following, as required:Provide personal care assistance and treatments to residents as per their individual care plan and as directed by CNM/RN/Supervisor/Allied Health ProfessionalWork in cooperation with CNM/RN/Supervisor and Allied Health Professionals to meet residents care needsWork in cooperation with other carers and assist each otherProvide residents with discreet assistance to manage their continence and elimination needsDemonstrate understanding of skills required for working with elderly people and those with dementia and difficult behavioursConsider residents' needs and personal choices when implementing care with due consideration to Charter of Residents Rights and ResponsibilitiesPromote residents to achieve maximum independence, whilst meeting ADL and care needs/preferences with a physical, mental and emotional approachComplete all assessments of resident care needs, as directed by the CNM, RN, Supervisor and Allied Health professionalsMaintain accurate and timely documentation of all residents' recordsMaintain iCare records relating to resident careProvide appropriate assistance with dietary needs in accordance with the guidelines of Foodsafe training and policies and procedures for service of food to vulnerable personsReport all changes to CNM/SupervisorFollow duty statement requirements to facilitate continuous team approach to the care provision within the facilityDemonstrate well developed planning, organisation and time management skills within the scope of the duty statementEnsure economic use of resourcesUse a problem-solving approach to providing care and performing dutiesIdentify stock or equipment shortages to aid forward purchasing needsPromote and support rehabilitation, therapy, leisure and activities programsEnsure confidentiality is always maintainedEnsure the dignity, privacy and confidentiality of Geegeelup's residents alwaysDemonstrate knowledge of, and willingness to work to achieve Outcome Standards for Aged CareFamiliarise self with and demonstrate knowledge of hostel policies and proceduresAlways demonstrate professionalism and courtesyAccept responsibility for own actionsAttend all meetings and trainings as requiredHealth and Safety Responsibilities:As a Geegeelup employee, you have a 'duty of care' responsibility for safety and health at the workplace.
