Elders Rockhampton is currently seeking a dynamic Agronomist with experience across Broadacre and Horticulture to join our close-knit team that proudly provides Real Estate, Finance, Livestock and Wool, Farm Supplies, and Agronomic services to the local community .
As an Elders Agronomist, you will be embedded in the branch and seen as a trusted advisor to our clients and branch staff.
Providing advice on crop health, nutrition and protection to the local region, you will be responsible for supporting our clients while driving innovation with the latest ag-technologies.
With your strong background in agronomy, understanding of sustainable practices, and knowledge of new agricultural technologies, you will build and maintain strong client relationships while working closely with the branch team to offer agronomic advice, products, and services that help your clients achieve their sales and earnings targets.ResponsibilitiesAs an Elders Agronomist, you will:Provide agronomic and farm management advice including planning, monitoring, testing & inspecting on a variety of cropsDevelop and deliver tailored recommendations to address growers' specific challenges and opportunitiesBuild and maintain professional relationships with a targeted group of existing and new clientsConduct farm visits to identify customer needs, offer product recommendations, and support implementation of agronomic solutions for prospective and existing clientsMaximise promotional opportunities, including assisting at field days and farmer meetings with demonstrations and trial workAchieve allocated financial objectives and assist with product forecasting and inventory managementAbout youTo succeed at Elders, you:Tertiary qualifications, or studying, Agricultural Science (or a related field) and AgSafe accreditationPrevious experience in a fast paced, customer focused Sales position (ideally within ag products)Commitment to providing high levels of customer serviceStrong communication skills, written and verballyAbility to work in a team and autonomously, while delivering resultsSound use of digital Farm Management Systems for farm planning & recording recommendationsAbout EldersAs a trusted Australian agribusiness, we have played an important role in the agricultural sector for 185 years.
