**The role**
We are seeking a highly skilled team manager to inspire, organise and lead our small team of support workers who are helping to craft and safeguard a good life for musical maestro Milli.
As well as providing hands-on care and mentoring, the team lead will be responsible for establishing systems, polices, and procedures so the team can work together consistently, effectively, and autonomously to meet Milli's needs and deliver the vision for her good life.
The team lead will have excellent people and task management skills to enable Milli's mum to step back from the daily coordination role, into an oversight role.
**About Milli**
Milli is a passionate ukulele player, singer, and performer. She loves role-playing, rhyming and creating her own lyrics for songs. She is a keen sailor and has recently discovered a hidden talent for boccia.
Milli is nearly 17 years old and is beginning the transition out of school into adult life. Milli needs support to:
- experience a range of activities, discover new interests and develop new skills
- find opportunities to perform, expand her musical skills, and work towards her dream of a career in music
- build friendships and lasting connections in her community
- plan, organise and execute her daily activities
- take care of herself and stay strong and healthy
- understand and manage her feelings and express her needs.
Our vision is for Milli to become socially connected in her community, have opportunities for contribution and self-expression, and be enabled to follow her passions.
**About Milli Rose the Musical Pty Ltd**
- Milli Rose the Musical_ is a company that provides support services just to Milli. It is run by Milli's mum, who acts as an unpaid director.
Support staff are employed to help Milli craft the stage play that is her own life. Milli is writing the script and composing the musical score. She is co-director, choreographer and, of course, the lead actor. Staff are the backstage production team - setting the stage, creating the props, auditioning the cast and working to pull the show together.
- Milli Rose the Musical_ works hard to create a fulfilling work environment that:
- enables you to contribute on a deep level to Milli's life
- gives you a clear vision and purpose
- provides you with ongoing mentoring and training
- involves you in the decision making

**Key responsibilities**

- In collaboration with the team, establish policies, procedures, training materials, templates and other resources to streamline operations and empower the team.
- Support team members to understand the vision, values and direction of the organisation and translate them so the team understands how they relate to their everyday practice.
- Establish effective communications channels and processes to ensure easy flow of information between Milli's family, medical and allied health professionals, and the support team.
- Build a positive team culture of trust, transparency, knowledge sharing, collaboration and continuous learning.
- Facilitate and lead the team through team meetings, mentoring, coaching and development.
- Delegate and monitor team tasks ensuring they are completed on time and within expected quality standards.
- Manage staff rostering, approve timesheets and check draft payroll runs for errors.
- Liaise with Book Keeper and HR advisor to ensure compliance with laws.
- Contribute to strategic planning, and create operational plans based on the strategic plan.
- Attend meetings to plan and implement ideas for building Milli's good life.
- Provide reports to the family on progress towards goals, and any risks and issues requiring input.
- Ensure Milli's daily support needs are met and daily shift reports capture useful data.
**Required experience and skills**
- Thorough understanding and commitment to WH&S, NDIS Code of Conduct and standards
- At least 2 years experience managing a team
- At least 3 years experience working in disability support or related area
