As directed by the Ranger in Charge, you will plan and deliver the Blackdown Tableland Operational Plan and the Duaringa annual work plan efficiently and effectively.
This includes operating and maintaining plant and equipment, controlling pest plants and animals, undertaking planned burning and wildfire suppression activities, and maintaining park infrastructure.You will also manage small projects, undertake compliance duties, and perform various natural and cultural resource management tasks.
Practical skills and experience in maintaining and operating small power equipment and tools for asset maintenance are necessary.An important aspect of this role is providing on-ground supervision to field-based staff and working collaboratively with others.
A strong personal work ethic, good communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
You need to be adaptable and flexible to meet on-the-ground service requirements to ensure high-quality park management services.Most work will be field-based, but administrative tasks will also be part of your duties.As a 004 Ranger, you must be able to:communicate clearlymaintain a positive and supportive approachwork effectively in a team, as a supervisor, and independentlyundertake general estate development and protection dutiesoperate and maintain minor plant and equipmentassist in developing and implementing the annual works programundertake law enforcement and compliance dutiesprovide general information to park visitors and stakeholdersassist with emergency responsemonitor workplace health and safetyperform administrative duties, including record-keeping and procurementsupport and promote the interests of First Nations peopleYou will engage in activities requiring environmental and service expertise.
