**About the role**
To support our success we are looking for a Corporate Communications Specialist to join the Strategic Communications team, with flexibility to be based in either Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
Strategic Communications develops and shares a compelling narrative that is aligned to the fund's strategic ambition. This is achieved through the development and execution of external and internal communication strategies that:
- Build advocacy for our strategy and vision
- Protect and build brand reputation and sector attribution
- Build executive visibility and reputation internally
- Inspire our people to drive and maintain a thriving culture and deliver improved outcomes for members.
As a member of a high performing team of internal and external communication specialists, the Corporate Communications Specialist works collaboratively with the Corporate Communications Manager and the Corporate Affairs team to develop external communications strategies and initiatives in accordance with Australian Retirement Trust's strategy. The team work dynamically in execution and partner with stakeholders across the business.
This role will be responsible for delivering a range of external communications that execute on the Fund's narrative and are aligned to brand voice for a range of external audiences. Specific deliverables and responsibilities may include board and executive speeches for Annual Member Meeting and other corporate events, corporate reports, corporate presentations and speaking points, corporate key messaging, opinion pieces, feature articles, news stories, web content and high-level correspondence.
This role is available as a **permanent** opportunity.
Some out of hours work may be required from time to time.
We are **flexible** with location provide you can attend our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office at least once a week.
**About you**
If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications will include:
- Significant experience in a similar corporate communications or external communications role with a degree in Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent.
- Strong journalistic, storytelling, copywriting and editing skills, and experience in simplifying complex matters and topics for different audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in long-form writing, such as feature articles, speeches and reports.
- Proven experience in working with senior management to develop c-suite speeches, presentations and briefing papers.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate concepts and ideas in a way that will persuade, convince and influence others, including the ability to write using plain language.
- Excellent project and time management skills.
- Applies advanced verbal and written skills, including coaching on communications related issues.
- Ability to work independently and with initiative to meet tight deadlines.
