What the Position Involves
The Regional Health Care Educator, reporting to the Manager of Clinical Education, is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical education across the East Region.
Leads new hire nursing and nursing assistant orientation. Develops and maintains educational plans and ongoing competency assessment systems. Collaborates with managers and educators to identify training needs, develop improvement plans, and support annual mandatory programs. Serves as AHA Training Site Coordinator, managing instructor orientation, class scheduling, equipment, and documentation. Communicates with regional CNOs and leaders regarding initiatives, projects, and education strategy. Acts as regional liaison to HealthStream resources and supports standardization of educational tools across Munson.
What's Required
Education & Licensure
RN license in the State of Michigan, in good standing. Master's degree in nursing or education required; OR bachelor's degree in clinical nursing or related field with 4+ years of education or unit leadership experience.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years nursing experience. Demonstrated expertise in education, curriculum development, and adult learning. Experience leading change and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
Certifications
Current BLS required; BLS instructor license preferred. Must obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS instructor certification within 1 year.
Other Requirements
Strong communication, leadership, and mentorship skills. Must be able to travel 50–75% within northern Michigan. Valid Michigan driver's license required. Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
