Afternoon Shift Supervisor

About The RoleARC (The Australian Reinforcing Company) is looking for a self-driven individual to join our Laverton branch as an Afternoon Shift Supervisor.The hours for this role are 2 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday.Our Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the safety and day to day manufacturing and logistics of the shift.
You will be coordinating the operational activities of the shift including management of production staff, including employee performance and safe operations, quality of work and implementation of improvement processes.You will be joining a company that focuses on career development and actively works on promoting internal candidates and supporting employees on their career journey.
If you are looking for a position, where you can grow and learn from experienced leaders, we'd love to hear from you.Your priorities include:Managing a team of Operators and Despatch CoordinatorsEnsuring all WHS management system requirements are met and safety standards are maintainedLeading and managing the shift to ensure the production and output KPIs are metWork collaboratively with key internal stakeholdersIdentify and report on opportunities for improvement initiativesManaging costs to ensure delivery is met in the most cost-effective mannerAllocating appropriate manning and ensuring employees are trained, fit, qualified and competent to effectively run operationsYou are an experienced leader with a background in manufacturing or associated heavy industry.
You will be skilled in robust safety practices, building strong internal and external relationships, responding to frequent changes in priorities and have a solution-oriented mindset.You will have:Strong people leader, providing authentic and accountable leadership for the teamExperience in production manufacturing and planningSolid understanding of safety management systems and building the safety cultureStrong communication skills and computer proficiencyHazard identification and implementing best-practice safety solutionsProven experience supervising or managing a large team in a manufacturing or a relevant industryHigh level problem solving, conflict resolution and people management skillsExperience with implementation of lean systems and process improvementExperience in the steel reinforcing sector and with Unionised workforces would be highly regarded but not essentialKey BenefitsBelow are some of our key central benefits that are available to InfraBuild employees.
