**About the role**
Due to the recent establishment of our sustainability practice, we have this exciting, newly created opportunity for an experienced ESG Advisory and Reporting Consultant. As a Sustainability Consultant at our firm, you will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of ESG strategies and systems for our clients with a focus initially on getting our client ready for climate reporting. You will work closely with senior advisors in our team and clients to assess, analyse, and enhance their environmental, social, and governance strategy, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards to enable effective and compliant reporting.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop strategies and plans to be able to set and achieve ESG targets with a particular emphasis on climate reporting metrics
- Perform materiality assessments and engaging with stakeholders to understand their requirements
- Carry out gap analysis to understand current state of an organisation. Analyse clients
- systems and processes to identify improvements and implement appropriate systems and processes for clients
- Develop appropriate climate disclosures which comply with mandatory climate requirements
- Work closely with clients, managing engagements to deliver quality outcomes
- Manage workload, leveraging strong project management skills to deliver projects efficiently
- Work in a multidisciplinary team across a range of industries
**Key Skills and Experience**:
- Minimum of 3 yrs experience as an ESG Consultant within a Professional Services firm or relevant industry
- Degree qualified in Commerce, or a related discipline
- Commenced CA / CPA studies preferred
- Experience with gap analysis and materiality assessments
- Strong analytical and data analysis skills
- Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks such as GRI, ISSB, NGERS, preferred.
- Experience with ESG risk and advisory work.
- Strong technical knowledge of relevant frameworks, particularly in TCFD, and regulatory in policy context
- Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
- Exposure to working with multiple teams and clients in a local and/or international context
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt rapidly to an evolving ESG environment and proactively assist clients to develop solutions to respond.
- A confident self-starter who is comfortable operating in a dynamic transforming environment.
